Continuum of Care for Sexual Abuse

NOJOS has set a goal to create/come up with reccomendations for a comprehensive system to address sexual abuse. From prevention to treatment to sanctions to aftercare. This request is a rare opportunity to pool our resources and knowledge and create a system that addresses sexual abuse. So i ask you, the experts: What are the glaring gaps in our system? Where do we need to invest energy and resources? What have we too long overlooked? How can we get diverse components of our sytems to work collaboratively to improve outcomes?

Please share your thoughts and contribute to the creation of a system that will hopefully put some of us offender service providers out of a job? (or more likley, re-align our energies doing more prevention!).

Polygraph

I just saw a commercial for a new gameshow using the polygraph starring in January-It looks like the show will be challenging contestants to tell the truth in situations that could be embarrassing or politically incorrect. Interesting as we have been discussing the use of polygraphs with our clients who are being asked similar questions. I wonder if this program will raise awareness of use of polygraphs and how this will effect our clients or agency's perception of it?
